Barrio Concha y Toro is one of Santiago's best-preserved heritage quarters. Built in the 1920s over the grounds of an old estate, today it's a haven of curved streets, period façades and hidden squares, right downtown and steps from Casa Conde.
Walk the neighbourhood
The best plan is to wander on foot. Stroll Plaza Libertad de Prensa and the Concha y Toro and Maturana streets, and discover mansions that now house restaurants, bars and cultural venues. It's one of the most photographed corners of the city.
Culture and bohemia
The quarter and its surroundings are full of theatres, galleries and historic bars. A few blocks away is Barrio Brasil, with its bohemian life, bookshops and specialty cafés.
Getting around
República metro station (Line 1) is a short walk away and connects to the whole city centre. From Casa Conde you can reach most of the neighbourhood's highlights on foot.
