Our neighbourhood & our house

Welcome to Casa Conde, in the historic Barrio Concha y Toro

Casa Conde Boutique Hotel sits in the emblematic Barrio Concha y Toro, one of the most representative heritage areas of Santiago de Chile. Born in the early 20th century on the former lands of the Concha y Toro family, the neighbourhood was conceived as an exclusive residential quarter inspired by the European cities of the era, becoming one of the finest examples of the Chilean Belle Époque.

The neighbourhood's design is defined by its short, curving, interconnected streets, which break with Santiago's traditional grid layout. During its consolidation, especially between 1926 and 1939, leading architects of the time took part —among them Larraín Bravo, González Cortés, Siegel, Alberto Álamos, Smith Solar, Machicao and Bianchi— who, inspired by European trends, harmonised a range of architectural styles and gave the area the aesthetic unity that still defines it. The elegant continuous-façade buildings were arranged around a small square, originally named Plaza Du Pont and today known as Plaza de la Libertad de Prensa. This distinctive urban design, together with its cobbled streets and pedestrian scale, forms a setting of great historical and cultural value that invites you to wander its corners and discover its story.

Over time, Barrio Concha y Toro has evolved from an exclusive residential enclave into a place where residents, culture, gastronomy and visitors from all over the world come together. Its greatest value lies not only in its architecture, but also in the memory, traditions and sense of community that its inhabitants have preserved across generations.

Casa Conde Boutique Hotel operates in a century-old building, carefully restored to preserve its essence while offering the comfort our guests expect. Every stay is an invitation to discover the history, charm and identity of one of Santiago's most singular neighbourhoods, enjoying personal service and a peaceful atmosphere just minutes from the city centre and its main attractions.
